At Gem City Pin Up Photography, we’ve always celebrated the bold, the beautiful, and the timeless magic of vintage glamour. But let’s be real—sometimes a girl’s gotta throw on some black eyeliner, crank up the moody lighting, and let her dark side out to play. 😈
So without further ado, we’re beyond thrilled to announce our latest creative venture:✨ The Dark Gem Photography Series ✨
This new series is a passion project, born from a deep love of the dramatic, the daring, and the downright different. Think less pastel and pearls—more shadows and edge. We’re talking high-contrast lighting, experimental styling, and sultry, haunting vibes that go way beyond the classic pinup look you know us for.
So what’s the deal?
To bring Dark Gem to life, we’ll be kicking things off with model calls very soon! These sessions will be:
💀 TFP (Trade for Photos) – That means selected models will receive edited images in exchange for their time, no monetary compensation involved.
📝 Paperwork required – All models will be expected to sign and complete proper documentation before the shoot, including a standard model release form. (Don’t worry—it’s just the professional grown-up stuff we need to keep everything official and awesome.)
⚠️ Not your usual Gem City shoot – This series is going to push boundaries and explore themes that are a bit darker, more intense, and creatively edgy. If you’re into mysterious lighting, shadowy storytelling, and that “hauntingly beautiful” aesthetic, you’re gonna love this.
🖤 Dark Gem: FAQ
Q: What does TFP mean exactly?A: TFP stands for “Trade for Photos.” That means you won’t be paying for your session, and we won’t be paying you either. Instead, you’ll receive a set number of edited images from the shoot for your portfolio, socials, or bragging rights. Win-win!
Q: Who can apply for the model call?A: Anyone 18+ who vibes with the Dark Gem aesthetic! No modeling experience necessary—just confidence, commitment, and a flair for the dramatic.
Q: What kind of “dark” are we talking here?A: Think stylized shadows, edgy lighting, goth-glam energy, bold poses, and maybe some slightly spooky vibes. It’s artistic, not horror—but definitely not sweet-n-sassy. Basically: moody main character energy.
Q: Do I need to provide my own wardrobe?A: We’ll discuss wardrobe on a case-by-case basis. You may be asked to bring specific pieces, but we’ll also have some styling guidance and possibly wardrobe options available. Bring your inner Morticia and your fashion sense. We have several wardrobe options we will be pairing models with.
Q: When will the shoots happen?A: Dates will be announced along with each model call. Sessions will be scheduled based on availability and studio time.
